Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everyone.
Came across one of L.A.'s finest sitting in his patrol car. Young fresh faced Pedro was very friendly and went out of his way to show me his patrol car and equipment.
Interested to learn that they have only had their Motorola Computer Aided Dispatch and GPS for about eighteen months. He was rapted with the system. He showed me the list of all the cars on patrol. Some of the information available was such things as who was in a particular patrol car and what work they had done for the shift.
Automatic rifle, shotgun, hand gun, taser, pepper spray, collapsible and graphite batons were just some of his tools of trade.
Spent the day with all the other Aussies (about 75%) staying in the hostel. Told some lies and listened to some as well. It is a dry hostel but Aussies will find a way. The hostel have tried to give the placve the Christmas feel.

Hi Dave,
Merry Xmas from Carly & I. We hope you didn't have too lonely a Xmas Day mate, and didn't tell too many tall tales. I'm sure you had them laughing just like when around the mess room table.
Everything is still the same here. Hopefully you will have your bike soon and be on the road.
The photo's are great. We could use some of the toys in their police vehicles up in Rasmussen Ave and a few streets in Coleraine.
Anyway, time for bed as I'm on at 8 in the morning. Take care and good luck.
Geoff & Carly
