Woke up to heavy rain and snow!!!!!!! Yes snow in southern California??????
Turned the television on and sure enough there was snow in the hills surrounding Los Angeles. Glad I didn't go to Ohio as originally planned becuase it was 15 degrees below there.
Put what warm clothes on that I had and braved the weather. Walked to Westchester shopping precinct for a feed. A 'Ihop' fast food restaurant was open and doing great business. I was the only white man in the place the rest being Hispanic or black American. Well sorry Mr 'Ihop' but the food was shit. The area is very run down and half the shops empty.
Back in my room in the warmth - another sleep -well it is the middle of the night back home and I am catching up.
Sleep interupted by the porter telling me I had received a parcel and he was bringing it up. (A chance for another tip I guess) He arrived with a huge carton from Adam Emswiler in Ohio. It contained my top box, tent and other items. The porter pointed out that the box weighed at least sixty pounds and was "...ver heavy...". To his disappointment I gave him a $1.00 (Well if I get that look for $5.00 I may as well get it for $1.00)
Went to Sizzlers for evening meal - sorry but again it was shit.
