Can I start all over again?

Years of Pol Pot in Cambodia were tragic in every sense. Their idea of going back to the start ie. day one of year one for new beginning was obscene but hey that is what I am thinking of doing. A month spent in Southern California while enjoying the sunshine was not what I came to do.

Might have to restart the count because the last week has been spent fighting the bureaucracy of Customs. Travelled to LA from San Diego thinking all was clear to pick up the bike but when I arrived 'they' changed their 'sharp' little minds. Left all my gear at San Diego thinking I would pick it up on my way back toward Mexico.

Returned to San Diego good old fashioned Australian 'pissed off'.

Picked my gear up and returned to LA.

At a cheap Hotel in Inglewood. The Hotel is right under the flight path of LAX. The area is rough and I don't go out at night.

That phone call will be coming sometime soon "Mr Stanley please come and pick up your bike"

Hi Dave,

Mate extremely sorry to read of your misfortunes regarding getting the bike out of customs. Not sure how much cash you have, but maybe you should purchase another bike and head off, and pick up your other bike on your return.
Either way mate keep smiling and each day is getting closer to getting your bike. Don't lose sight of the bigger picture.

Ahh, My friend. I apologise, on behalf of all americans, for the beauracracy you are coming up against. Dare I say it is a result of 8 years of "W" influence? (That should really help move along you bike eh?).
I have just spoken to your beautiful wife and she gave me the details. For your sake I am cracking open a nice Australian Red in your honour and thinking of you on the bike travelling out of California.
You'd better hurry, another American holiday is coming up on Monday and Obama gets sworn in on Tuesday. "Buckleys and Nunn" of getting anything those days.
Good luck my friend!
