Mud pyramid near Trujillo

There are thousands of archelogiocal sites in the mountains and sand dunes of this area. This one was discovered under a dune in an outlying area of Trujillo. The sand overtakes everything. Have a look at the mountain with sand half the way up the side. That is no small hill it is at least twice as high as anything in the Grampians.








This is my last visit to a mud palace or temple. They are bit like the South American churches - everywhere. They are not mud but rather a mix of ground up sea shells and other material. Sets rock hard and lasts for centuries obviously.
