Plans don´t always work out and not getting to Peru in time to start the Peregrine tour with Shirley was a blow. Waiting for the temporary travel papers from Mexico being the reason.
Arriving late I still got to enjoy several days with Shirley.
The highlight of the shortened tour, for me and I think Shirley, was Macchu Pitchu. Walking up to the Gateway of the Sun along a small section of the Inca Trail was hard walking but certainly worth every step.
We flew back to Lima and Shirley flew out on her way Buenos Aires later that same night.
I moved to less luxurious accommodation the Flying Dog Hostel in Miraflores. The month of February is Carnival time in South America so the hostel put on a Carnival themed night. Had to much to drink, for the first time for a long time, with my dorm mates and Irishman and an Iranian.
Next morning I picked up my Emergency Passport and a couple of hours later I was on the plane back to Nicaragua.
