Mountains into Arizona desert

Beautiful cooked breakfast thrown in with my accommodation. Very friendly American hospitality. Lovely town Julian and all the locals were offering "howdies" as I walked past.


Couldn't wait to hit the road though. For very good reason because all of the twisties that I had the day before were multiplied many times over for miles and miles coming down the mountain and through the desert. Once again the weather was beautiful ( mid 80's F ).

Eventually the road ran out and I had to use Highway Eight going east. Stopped at Yuma - missed the 3.10pm to Yuma - you have to be a western movie buff to understand. The movie with Russell Crowe. Nothing at Yuma to write home about so kept going. Stopped for the night at Casa Grande, Arizona.

The motel was rough and no hot water but the bed linen was clean and the price was good. May as well get in practice for Mexico standards.
